Jost Van Dyke is truly one of nature’s last unspoilt little secrets. Named after a Dutch pirate, Jost Van Dyke is undoubtedly a must see. It is the fourth largest of the British Virgin Islands (about five square miles), and has a uniqueness of its own. It boasts a very casual, laid-back lifestyle and the residents have a reputation for being friendly to its visitors. There are about 160 permanent residents. One trip to Jost is all you will need to fall in love with this famous little island and have fond memories to last a lifetime.

Establishments
Jost Van Dyke is well known for its beachfront restaurants and bars of which there are about ten, each having their own atmosphere, and the food is all delicious. The most famous of these is Foxy’s, which is internationally known and a must-see. There is a small primary school, clinic, and fire station. There is also a Government administration building which houses Customs, Immigration, and Police departments.

Activities
The main activity on Jost Van Dyke is relaxation. However, you may wish to bring your snorkel gear or rent some once you get on island because there is great snorkeling. Take a taxi or hike (about a 20-minute walk) to the beach at White Bay, which is rated among the top ten best beaches in the entire Caribbean. Taxi tours are also available where you will get some magnificent views and seedifferent parts of the island. Don’t forget to walk with your camera.
